Maybe one of the first utilities you think of is your water utility! You need this for dishes, laundry, cleaning yourself, and drinking! Thankfully, getting your water couldn’t be easier in Chattanooga. Water in Chattanooga is run by Tennessee American Water. They serve over 360,000 individuals in the area, and are dedicated to bringing you water in line with the USEPA standards.
The way Tennessee American Water charges you is based on a base rate plus the number of gallons that you use each month. You’re then billed monthly or quarterly, depending on your preference. Chattanooga Trash & Recycling | Chattanooga City
The trash service is provided by the city for a fee each month. This will depend on whether you have one or two bins, a recycling bin or just trash, and if you have to purchase a new bin or not. If you just bought a new home that’s brand new construction, Chattanooga City will provide you with a garbage bin. But if you purchase an older home and it doesn’t have a garbage bin, you will be charged a $75 fee.
